Know the emergency numbers before you need them

112 works in every EU country and connects to police, ambulance and fire. But roadside assistance numbers differ from country to country, and the middle of a motorway breakdown is not the moment to look them up. The booklet lists them for each country you cross.

Check the safety kit before you leave

Several European countries require specific items in the car — for example a warning triangle, reflective vests or a first-aid kit — and the rules differ between countries. The checklist helps you pack for all the countries on the route; confirm the current rules for each country before you travel, as they can change.
