Kilometres or miles: a road trip planner for travellers everywhere

A trip plan should speak your language — and your units. If you think in miles, a plan full of kilometres is a constant mental conversion. Holiday Routes lets every traveller choose.
One switch, every number
Choose metric or imperial in your profile, or with the KM / MI button at the top of the app, and everything follows:
- distances in kilometres or miles;
- elevation and climbs in metres or feet;
- speeds in km/h or mph;
- your car's range and the length of each driving leg.
Trips on any continent
Holiday Routes plans road trips, fly-and-drive holidays, city breaks and campervan tours anywhere in the world. Routes, maps, weather and charging information are available worldwide.
A few extras are regional by nature. The tolls & vignettes checklist and the emergency-number directory in the printable booklet cover European countries, because that is where those rules apply to most road trips.
Travelling abroad? Mind the units on the road
Switching the app is easy; switching your head on the road is harder. A few reminders when you drive somewhere that uses the other system:
- Speed limits and road signs follow the country, not your car. In most of the world they are in km/h; in the United States and the United Kingdom they are in mph.
- Many cars can change the dashboard units in the settings menu — worth doing before a long trip abroad.
- Fuel and energy prices are quoted per litre or per gallon, and per kWh, depending on the country.
Three interface languages
The app itself works in English, Spanish and French, and a trip you share can be read in any of the three — so you can plan in one language and send the trip to family or friends in another.
Frequently asked questions
Can two people on the same trip use different units?
Yes. The unit setting belongs to each person, not to the trip.
Does the app convert my car's range too?
Yes. Range, leg length and every distance in the plan are shown in the units you choose.
